Kundalini and the Sacred Secretion
Who is Kundalini?
Kundalini is symbolised as the Goddess of the Serpentine Fire. Her story goes that she was growing tired of heaven (the brain), so decided to visit the new earth (human body) that was being formed in the sea of space. Therefore, from heaven (the head), she descended a ladder (spinal cord) and found an island in the Sea (cerebrospinal fluid).
Surrounded by the Mountains of Eternity, Kundalini explored the island before deciding to ascend back to heaven. However, she found that the ladder had been severed from above (connection lost). Kundalini fled to a cave (sacral plexus), curled up and fell asleep. There she remains as the Coiled Serpent until lured awake by the “three mysterious notes of the Hindu snake-charmer’s flute.” When aroused by the three mysterious notes of the flute, Kundalini begins to uncoil and moves upwards upon the ladder back to heaven (brain).
Obviously this is up for interpretation. Personally, though, when I first read this tale in Hilton Hotema’s book, I had a visual representation of a Star, Sun and Moon alined like the holes in a flute, with Lord Shiva (the destroyer of illusion and imperfection) playing notes (frequencies) through them towards Earth. The Crown Chakra is also referred to as ‘the dwelling place of Shiva’. On its thousand petals, it is said that this energy centre inscribes the letters of the Sanskrit alphabet twenty times, and inside of it rests the Moon.
A Kundalini awakening is said to be an intensely profound spiritual experience.
Is the Sacred Secretion and Kundalini the same thing?
In essence, yes, as both entail the raising the Serpent Fire energy and increase of endogenous DMT production. However, there are some key differences.
First, the Kundalini (meaning the full awakening of the Serpent Fire) is an incredibly powerful form of energy that many Ancient Masters warned against being raised too soon, claiming it is dangerous when forced to awaken in a physical body that is not able to handle this higher level of frequency.
In the words of Hilton Hotema (1962, p.129): “If the awakening of the Spiritual Fire occurs before the re-orientation of the Mind has had time to pervade all the various bodies of man, it tends to get out of control and run wild.”
Second, the Sacred Secretion is focused upon the marriage of the Lunar/ Moon/ Feminine/ Pituitary/ Silver/ Magnetic energies and the Solar/ Sun/ Masculine/ Pineal/ Gold/ Electric energies.
The Sacred Secretion is a gentle. Preserving the Sacred Secretion lets the Universe know that you consent to and want this spiritual upgrade, but it upregulates your physical body’s light quotient in a gentle way that is manageable, until your body is mature enough for the complete explosive awakening of the energy.
Thus, practising the preservation of the Sacred Secretion is a way of preparing the body for its Kundalini awakening. When the physical body is a vibratory match/ is able to hold this intense frequency, spontaneous Kundalini awakening will occur.
Many ancient texts and classical literature exert that there is a 3 year initiation stage, followed by an additional 4 years to reach Mastery (7 years in total). However, the Age of Aquarius which our planet is currently progressing through means that energetic upgrades are happening incredibly quicker and our body’s are received constant upgrades and spontaneous attunements in preparation for our next stage of evolution. Therefore, it’s possible to reach this Mastery stage much, much sooner. Combining the preservation of the Sacred Secretion with other practices that increase the body’s light quotient and spiritual potential (such as yoga, energy healing and breathwork) can also speed up this process in a safe way.
Interestingly, there is also a tradition in Hinduism whereby serpents are lured out of caves/ appeased with offerings of milk, eggs and/or honey (which, if you know much about the Sacred Secretion, shows significant correlation). Similarly, as part of a festival known as Mahashivratri, representations of Shiva are based in water, milk and honey.
