A History Lesson

After the Big Bang, tiny particles bound together to form hydrogen and helium. Take these two atoms together, and you have about 98% of all known matter in the known universe. As time went on, under extreme heat of over ten million degrees Celsius, at the core of what we refer to as ‘stars’, the hydrogen and helium nuclei fused to form other heavier elements, such as carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron and so on. Our universe’s natural powerhouse lies within the heart of stars. Stars take fuel and convert it into something else (thus, changing the form of the energy). When stars eventually die and explode, these atoms are propelled into the universe. Therefore, almost every element on Earth was formed at the heart of a star and every atom in your body came from a stardust.

Atoms are the building blocks of all matter in the universe, the physical and the non-physical. Atoms join to become molecules and molecules vibrate at magnificent speed, creating energy. Everything in the world is energy; some visible and some not. The speed the molecules vibrate at and the amount of space between them determines the form they take. For example, the vibrating molecules that create the energy code we perceive as a table will be far denser than that of the flame of a fire. It’s even likely that the atoms in your left hand came from a different star to that of your right hand. You may even share some of the energy produced from the same star as Elvis! The Queen! Your pet dog! Or that curtain!

To be clear, energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only move in and out of form, like changing ice energy into water energy by heating it. So, your body is actually a perfect construction of atoms that were produced from exploding starts billions of years ago; when you touch your skin, you touch stardust. You are literally stardust.

But what does this mean for LOA?

It is scientifically proven that atoms with history together, such as photons of light particles, will naturally be attracted to each other again. It also shows how there always has been and will be the same amount of energy in the world, it only changes form. All too often humans take the illusion of reality and what they can physically see as the answer, yet, if energy and matter (or mass) are the same thing in the eyes of the universal laws, then there is no limit to how much non-physical energy can change form into physical-matter.

Surprisingly, the visible matter around us only makes up around 4% of the total matter and energy content of the universe; meaning that an astounding 96% of the total matter of the universe is invisible! Astronomers are only aware of their existence because of the gravitational influence around it [1]. Using WMAP technology (Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe), NASA satellites estimate that the universe is made up of 72% Dark Energy and 23% Dark Matter, with only around 4.6% Matter that the human body can perceive. Everything that you have seen throughout your life, including light itself, makes up for less than 5% of the total energy in the universe. Consequently, just because you cannot see something, doesn’t mean that it isn’t real. This excess ‘space’ is a universal fabric. And fabrics can be moulded and changed.

This leads to the obvious conclusion that there is a lot of energy in the universe that humans cannot see. That is because of the immense gaps between the vibrations that the universe is emitting and the vibrations that the human brain can currently perceive through the five senses. Think about UV light, infrared and those super-high-pitched dog whistles. Science proves that the ‘visible light’ that humans can perceive constitutes to less than 1 in 10 trillion of what is really there [2]. It would be incredibly naive to think that there isn’t something beyond our realm of perception. There are many people who claim to communicate with ‘spirits’ and who’s to say they can’t! It is perfectly plausible that they may have not conditioned their brains to perceive the ‘spirit’ world as ‘not real’. Just to be clear, I’m not for or against this argument, I am simply trying to open your mind to the wonders and possibilities of the universe and your own brain power.

The human brain is so very complex that much of it is still a mystery to scientists to this day. What we do know is that everything we think we see is actually a construction of the brain [3]. The world around us, the constantly moving, constantly changing, vibrational world around us, is just a bunch of moving atoms (The Matrix movies don’t seem so fictional now, do they?) Therefore, due to the fact that the world is such a labyrinth of energy fields, our brain decodes this into a “best guess” physical realm [4].

Even the earth on which we live, and everything on it, are the result of evolutionary change, through which microscopic bits of matter have been organised and arranged in an orderly way as a collection of cells. Even single cells are capable of learning from their environmental experiences and forming cellular memories, which they pass on to their proceeding generations. This is also the reason behind immune systems adapting to their environment [5], which explains why so many of us get ‘the bug’ after a holiday abroad.

Unsurprisingly, biologists are becoming increasingly aware that animals have coevolved and continue to coexist in ways that support their own health and development [6]. Through this, evolution becomes a matter of the survival of the fittest groups, rather than the survival of individuals. Given this sharing of genes and environmental survival, organisms can no longer be seen as disconnected entities. The Earth and its entire species constitute one interactive, living super-organism. [7], where stronger species support the weak. During my years as a school teacher, this phenomenon was also witnessed daily within classroom environment. Stronger students would willingly and naturally support the weak, which in turn enhanced the overall competence of the whole cohort.

These are perfect examples of the energy within the universe working harmoniously together to create balance. The universe will even re-arrange itself to make it happen. We can measure this in numerous ways. For example, humans take in oxygen and excrete carbon dioxide, and plants balance this by taking in carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. Furthermore, land species of animals are all inter-dependent for survival, either directly or indirectly. The Earth produces plenty of vegetation, many herbivores eat the vegetation, and then a few carnivores eat some of the herbivores, but only enough to sustain their survival. It keeps the balance.

Clearly, humans are not meant to be alone. The nature and power of harmonious relationships can be seen in the community of trillions of cells that cooperate to form every human being. And all of these cells have a job, from being part of an organ’s essential tissue to a soldier in the body’s immune system. They even have health care, protection and a viable economy (based on the exchange of energy-molecules). And each of these communities of cells depends on the survival and health of one another, just as every living thing on Gaia does. Everything in the universe is inter-connected and reliant on energetic communication.

A study known as the ‘Hundredth Monkey Effect’ shows the process by which a thought or action is ‘contagious’. The name derived from an experiment with island monkeys in 1950, which showed that once a single monkey on one island started washing the sand off of its potatoes in the water, monkeys on other islands began to do the same. As if the idea had ‘travelled’ to them. This is further supported by birds in the UK who, over the short course of one week, all started to puncture the lids of milk to get the cream. This principal also holds true for human beings. As the number of individuals adhering to a specific thought pattern raises, this thought pattern becomes the property of all. In other words, the frequency of the collective thought of a group becomes strong enough to force the surrounding civilisations into resonance [8]. As the accumulate energy builds in each of these realms, the resonance of the particular energy increases in the universe and the choices and experiences of others. This phenomenon is referred to as ‘Collective Consciousness’.

Unsurprisingly, this Hundredth Monkey Effect doesn’t stop within the here and now. A branch of scientific study known as ‘Epigenetics’ shows how our current views of the world affect the future of the universe. Epigentics is the study of changes in organisms caused by modification of hereditable genes expression. The study has revealed just how environmental influences modify our genes, these influences include nutrition, stress and emotions. As a result, even phobias and beliefs can be passed down from parent to child, generation after generation. It is even possible that our phobias now are memories passed down through our genes from our ancestors. In hindsight, it seems obvious that we would inherit the same genetic responses and beliefs from our parents and grandparents as we would, naturally, need to be able to survive in the same environment. This would explain why fears of spiders and snakes are so common, whereas fears of modern dangers, such as cars, are not.

In the wake of the epigenetic revolution, Dr Mercola, within his interview titled ‘Falling For This Myth Could Give You Cancer that was published on 11th April 2012 [9], explained that in 1988, the experiments of John Cairns demonstrated that even primitive organisms can evolve ‘consciously’, as DNA changes in response to its environment. With new science revealing that environmental signal control gene expression, further work by Dr Bruce Lipton and other Epigentic researchers shows that the ‘environmental signals’ also include thoughts and emotions- both of which have been shown to directly affect DNA expression and even the blood’s neurochemistry [10][11]. Moreover, Epigentic science reveals that you are an extension of your environment, which includes everything from your thoughts and belief systems, to toxic exposures and exposures to sunlight, exercise and diet. We are literally changing our DNA, thus the genetics of our offspring and the future of mankind, based on the thoughts and beliefs that we are hold right now.

This is why having a positive internal and external vibration is so essential in the evolution of mankind. It concludes that the universe is like one big sea of connected energy. (The Avatar movies aren’t seeming so far-fetched now either, right?) Basically. each of us is an integral part of the universal electromagnetic universe, a cosmic energy field (aura). Everything we observe, everything we do, affects everything else.

Remember, we are energetic beings and every substance in the physical world is an expression of the electromagnetic spectrum pulsating energy. The combinations of thoughts together produce the results that you get, again and again and again. The living, vibratory energy which permeates every atom of matter, and fills every niche of space, also connects every human brain. When stimulated to a higher vibration by emotions, the mind becomes more receptive to thought energy.

Interestingly, there is a saying amongst psychologists that “those who play together, stay together.” This is because studies show that it isn’t preferences or similarities that bond us. It is the memories that we make together- the activities we participate within- that build stronger relationships [12].

In the 1940s, renowned psychologist, Abraham Maslow, put love and belonging wiithin his version of the human hierarchy of human needs. Following this, in the 1960s, came the attachment theory from another world famous psychologist, John Bowlby. Bowlby stated that strong relationships with caregivers were essential in healthy child development. Then, in the 1980s, psychologist Michael Argyle suggested that relationships were one of the most influential factors for our well-being. These theories demonstrate how secure, trusting relationships with caregivers optimises children’s intellectual potential.

But you didn’t need this book to know that strong, fun relationships are key to a happy life. In addition to the endless research to support this, you have your own memories. Can you even think back to a time when you were truly happy, that didn’t involve interaction with others?

The world-famous Finnish education system is often praised in the media as being ‘the best on the planet’. Yet, their academic results aren’t what they are highly regarded for. It is their focus on empathy and being a good citizen, on well-being and holistic development, that puts Finland on a pedestal above all others.

Moreover, in 1992, an Italian Neurologist, Giacomo Rizzolatti, discovered ‘Mirror Neurons’ in the brains of macaque monkeys. These were areas of the brain that activated not only when a monkey reached for a raisin, but also when it saw someone else do so. These neurons of ours also fire in the same way when we see people in pain. Iain McGilchrist, expert in neuro-imaging, agrees that, “Mirror neurons are a means of understanding another’s intentions... They form part of the capacity to understand others and empathise with them.” [13]

It is through observation of caregivers that children develop empathy. And it is through this empathy that unconditional love and kindness can sweep the world. The longest study ever conducted on human happiness showed that it was relationships with others that led to happier-feeling people [14].

Happy Family Life = Attracting Happy Friends And Situations.

Furthermore, on-going literature research by Ruth Whippman [15] showed that, “Everything I have learned so far about happiness points towards community identity and strong social bonds being the single biggest factor.” She goes on further to say that study after study have found that religious people tend to report higher levels of well-being. Again, due to the spirit of community and the feeling of belonging; through love.

It is important to note here, that this unconditional love shouldn’t mean putting yourself last. Happiness isn’t all about the needs of others, including your children. Before anybody else can really love you, you must love yourself. Treat yourself how you want to be treated. This frequency of love, to yourself and the rest of the world, is the highest frequency you can emit. Even King Edward VII gave up the throne of England, after less than a year, to marry the love of his life, American socialite, Wallis Simpson. This changed the whole future of the British monarchy.

Choosing love and compassion is always a good idea. After all, what do you want others to say about you when your soul eventually leaves your meat-mobil?

Sometimes, it could just be the parents’ relationship that is causing uncertainty. After all, divorce begins in the mind. In which case, I’ll present you with the ninety day challenge. For 90 days, imagine that your partner is the best person ever. It doesn’t need to be reciprocated; LOA will do the rest for you. By the end of the 90 days, you will either have the greatest relationship in the world or be ready to leave it with your head held high, knowing that you did all that you could. After all, it wouldn’t be fair to model to your children that it’s okay to stay in an unhappy relationship or to choose security over happiness. This would also work to build a stronger relationship with any other members of your family, including your kids. Everything in the universe, including our relationships, are purely down to perception of energy waves. And these perceptions are influenced by genetic influence, but predominately by environmental stimuli. Therefore, by retraining your brain to focus on the positive in life by abiding by the rules of the Law Of Attraction, the thoughts that broadcast into the universal energy field also tell your body the levels of hormones to drop into your bloodstream, thus influencing your emotional response. This is delved into deeper within the Biology Lesson.
